In this blog post, we will share some of our favourite light, gold and dark rums that will make the perfect drink this summer season.
Barbican Botanics Spiced Rum is 100% fermented and distilled in the South West of England. This rum contains figs, oranges, allspice, berries, nutmeg, ginger, cassia and clove, along with a smokiness from the addition of Charred American Oak.
★ Serving Suggestion: Pairs perfectly with a good quality cola and a slice of orange, or fiery ginger beer and a wedge of lime.
Ninefold Pure Single Rum is made from molasses at Ninefold Distillery on Dormont Home Farm in Dumfries & Galloway. This premium Scottish white rum uses traditional double pot distillation to create a distinctly smooth unaged rum. Notes of vanilla and citrus on the nose give way to smooth caramel and citrus, finished by a lingering spiciness.

Rathlee Rum is column distilled in Latin America before arriving on the shores of Cornwall in charred white oak barrels where it is delicately blended with the purest Cornish water. Smooth on the palate with notes of tropical fruit, honey and vanilla, and a warm peppery-spice finish.

Sweetdram Smoked Spiced Rum is a bold and aromatic spirit made in Edinburgh. It uses Caribbean rums, lush green botanicals, grains of paradise, lapsang souchong and warm-smoked organic figs. Think dry caramel, peppered fruit crumble and chunks of tinned pineapple on the barbecue.

Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold is expertly crafted with a blend of the finest Caribbean Rum as well as a complex blend of spices and natural flavours. Matured in charred American white oak bourbon barrels, this rum contains notes of rich natural vanilla, brown sugar, dried fruit, warming spices and hints of oak.

Wester Spiced Rum is distilled in Scotland and uses real, natural ingredients and innovative distilling techniques. Their rum starts as sugarcane molasses. Bittersweet and full of flavour. This is then mixed with Scottish water and specialist yeast to begin the fermentation process.

Hattiers Premium Reserve Rum is a sipping rum which has been developed in a family-run distillery in South Devon, UK. This rum begins with an 8 year aged double-retort pot and twin-column coffey still blend, distilled from sugar cane molasses in Barbados. They then blend this with exceptional pot still rums from Guatemala, Panama and the Dominican Republic before adding pure Devon water.

J. Gow Fading Light Rum has been inspired by 'grimleens', an eerie duck which settles across Orkney, which has sparked many tales of ghosts and spirits. This pure single rum has been aged in chestnut casks, with no added sugar or colouring, and contains notes of dried fruits, vanilla, cream and spice.

Mooncurser Cornish Spiced Rum has been inspired by the hidden coves and rocky inlets that Cornwall has long been notorious for and every bottle is fermented, distilled and bottled in Cornwall.
